Stream of Consciousness personal operating system

CrossCurrents AI

Stream of Consciousness (SOC) began as a low-friction capture system for raw ideas. Its next role is broader: a personal management layer that connects thoughts, time, tasks, priorities, and portfolio projects while preserving natural conversation as the main interface.

Current thesis

A personal operating system should capture thoughts naturally, turn them into priorities and actions, and keep projects moving without adding administrative friction.

02Validation

Critical minerals intelligence

Bedrock Bulletin

A living intelligence layer for understanding which Canadian critical-mineral projects matter, what blocks them, and what changed.

Current thesis

The energy transition does not have an information shortage. It has a decision-quality shortage.

03Research

Taming the frontier of science

Institute for Exotic Science

Tracing the boundary where established science thins into open frontier, and frontier thins into speculation. The work is to map that boundary precisely — to know which pieces of an imagined technology are already real, which are credibly extrapolated, and which are genuine handwaving.

Current thesis

We're going to see thousands of futuristic tech problems become our new reality. This project aims to track them and see how that frontier moves forward.

Hockey development intelligence

The Long Road

The Long Road is a living hockey-pathway archive tracking players across North American and European leagues back to 1989–90, resolving historical teams and predecessor competitions, and following each player to verified NHL outcomes. It is built to answer who makes the NHL, which routes recur, and who fought through the minors to reach the top—without publishing a success rate until a complete official participant denominator is proven.

Current thesis

The path to the NHL is not a straight line. A source-verifiable archive can show which development routes actually produce NHL players—and surface the success stories hidden in junior, university, minor-pro, and European hockey.

05Research

Public-interest software

NexusIntel

A small experiment in turning public plans, promises, and spending into a legible stream of delivery evidence.

Current thesis

Policy becomes more useful when citizens can see where it meets execution.

06Research

Find a fitness partner with compatibility in mind

FitMatch

A fitness-partner discovery concept that applies the matching patterns of dating apps to shared activities, goals, schedules, and preferred ways of training.

Current thesis

Finding a compatible fitness partner is a discovery problem. Better matching can make exercise more social, accountable, and consistent.

07Prototype

Modern Media, AI Driven

CivicWest

A test case for new media tools applicable to the western context.

Current thesis

The useful unit of AI is not the model. It is the repeatable system around it.

08Research

A guide to the quest for the lost cities of the Amazon

The Lost City of Z

Part travel guide, part historical record: an exploration of the Amazon, the expeditions behind the Lost City of Z, and the evidence surrounding the region's lost-city narratives.

Current thesis

Travel becomes more meaningful when place, history, archaeology, and unresolved stories are presented together.

09Research

Testing multilingual AI media

BleuetBlanc

An early media experiment testing AI-assisted translation and production across languages.

Current thesis

AI can lower the cost of multilingual publishing, but the real test is whether voice, context, and local meaning survive the production process.

10Research

A workback plan for a better future

FutureState (FTFN.io)

A future-state planning project that starts with long-term outcomes and works backward into practical pathways and near-term actions.

Current thesis

A better future becomes actionable when desired outcomes are translated into explicit dependencies, milestones, and workback plans.

11Research

Building the next generation of northern viticulture

Northern Terroir

A research and mapping project on the next generation of northern viticulture, documenting the conditions, regions, and practices that shape what can grow where.

Current thesis

Northern viticulture needs its own evidence base: climate, site, soils, varieties, and operating practice determine where high-quality wine growing can expand.

12Research

AI-assisted local journalism

Calgary Dispatch

An experiment in AI-assisted Calgary journalism, testing where automation helps, where human review remains essential, and whether the model can sustain timely local coverage.

Current thesis

Local journalism can use AI to expand the range and speed of coverage, but verification, editorial judgment, and accountability still determine whether the result is useful.

13Research

AI-assisted business intelligence

AugurWellAI

An early-stage business intelligence tool intended to ingest, organize, and synthesize operating data into clearer questions, signals, and decision support.

Current thesis

Small teams rarely lack data; they lack a reliable way to turn scattered operating information into timely decisions.

14Research

New tools and methods for language instruction

Fluent Flow

An early-stage language-learning experiment testing new tools and methods for instruction, practice, feedback, and fluency.

Current thesis

Language learning improves when practice is frequent, adaptive, and grounded in real communication; AI may lower the cost of providing that practice.

15Research

Data-centre and power-system intelligence

GridWatch

A research product mapping data centres and power generation across North America to make infrastructure demand, supply, and regional constraints easier to understand.

Current thesis

Data-centre growth and power generation need to be tracked together: new digital demand only makes sense in the context of the grids and generation that must serve it.

16Research

The story of the world's finest fibre

Vicuna Project

From the Andes to global fashion markets, the Vicuña Project documents the animal, its fibre, the conservation systems that enabled its recovery, and the communities and organizations involved in sustainable management.

Current thesis

Vicuña fibre is not only a luxury material; it is a connected story of Andean ecology, community stewardship, conservation, trade, and value.

17Research

AI-assisted boat-engine diagnostics

Boats Boats Boats

A ChatGPT-based troubleshooting assistant for boat engines, intended to guide owners through structured symptom capture, likely causes, safety checks, and next diagnostic steps without pretending to replace a qualified marine mechanic.

Current thesis

Boat owners need a practical way to translate symptoms, engine details, and maintenance history into a safer diagnostic path before parts are replaced or a mechanic is called.

18Paused

Long-horizon Canadian media experiment

Canada Unfiltered

A longer-term test case for a bilingual Canadian news discussion product combining article discovery, community voting, comments, contextual contributions, search, and human moderation.

Current thesis

News discussion becomes more useful when readers can evaluate, annotate, and improve the context around an article instead of only reacting to it.

19Research

A directory of Central American political leadership

Central America

A research directory of Central American politicians, parties, public offices, elections, and leadership changes, designed as a foundation for country and regional political briefs.

Current thesis

Regional political intelligence becomes more useful when officeholders, parties, institutions, and elections can be followed in one structured directory.

20Research

Private political intelligence workspace

CivicPress

A private, authenticated political intelligence system for caucus researchers and other professional users, beginning with legislative documents and energy and mining. The product is designed around navigable source records, human review, and in-app and email alerts.

Current thesis

Legislative and regulatory information becomes useful when documents, actors, companies, permits, and changes are connected to the people who need to act.

21Research

Connecting ranchers directly with buyers

RanchLink

An early marketplace concept connecting ranchers with buyers through clear listings, direct inquiry, and the practical information needed to evaluate a potential transaction.

Current thesis

Livestock markets work better when ranchers and serious buyers can find one another, establish trust, and exchange the information needed to transact.

22Research

Canadiana, travel, and books

Yes We Canada

A Facebook-first Canadiana page planned to become a website publishing accessible Canadian culture, history, travel, and reading content, with affiliate revenue from travel products and Canadian books.

Current thesis

A broad Canadian-interest audience can become a durable media and commerce property when lightweight cultural content leads into useful travel and book recommendations.
